What We Believe

We firmly believe in the great doctrines of historical Christianity as they are revealed in the Bible. The central truth of the whole Bible can be summarized in one verse, John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error or contradiction, and as relevant today as when it was written.

I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right. — Isaiah 45:19

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe that God created all things; that the universe did not come about by random accident through evolution.

For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. — Romans 1:20

We believe that God created perfect humans who disobeyed Him. Now, all people need to be restored to a right relationship with God.

There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins. — Ecclesiastes 7:20

Our beliefs are centered around “Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.” We believe:

An eternal life of joy and wholeness in God’s presence — salvation from guilt, sin, and hell — comes only through grace — the free gift of God’s undeserved love and forgiveness, which cannot be earned by good works.

_ This gift comes to us only through faith in Jesus Christ as the Savior who lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose again, and is alive.

It is by grace that you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.— Ephesians 2:-9

_ The Holy Bible — Scripture — stands alone as the perfect, inspired, and authoritative revelation of God’s plan of salvation for all of humanity.

Every word of God is flawless. . . . Do not add to his words . . . — Proverbs 30:5-6

We believe in the Holy Trinity — that there is only one God, consisting of three Persons — the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Jesus answered:) I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. — John 14:16-17

Because we believe, God’s gift of salvation moves us to thankful living: dedicating our lives to Jesus, worshiping with our fellow believers, studying the Bible, praying, loving and serving others, and telling others about His love.

He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised again. — 2 Corinthians 5:15

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. — Galatians 6:8
